El domingo pasado 17 de septiembre se llevaron a cabo los Emmys número 69, los premios que se entregan a los programas y actorxs de televisión. Estos son entregados por la Academia de la Televisión de Estados Unidos y la ceremonia fue presentada por Stephen Colbert. Veamos los resultados de la premiación:
La serie con mayor cantidad de nominaciones era Westworld de HBO, la nueva megaproducción de la cadena que sumó un total de 22 nominaciones de las que solo se llevó 3 dentro de las categorías técnicas y ninguno por actuación, guión o dirección. Asimismo, Stranger Things una de las favoritas del público tuvo 18 nominaciones y, al igual que Westworld, solo se llevó tres dentro de las categorías técnicas. Ambas son consideradas las grandes perdedoras de la noche.
Por otro lado, Big Little Lies arrasó en la noche con prácticamente todos los premios a los que estuvo nominada dentro de la categoría de Miniserie, llevándose 5 estatuillas (Mejor actriz principal, Mejor actor secundario, Mejor actriz secundaria, Mejor miniserie y Mejor director de miniserie o película de TV). También, la serie que la rompió fue The Handmaid’s Tale, una serie ubicada en un futuro distópico en el que las mujeres son clasificadas según su fertilidad. Esta se llevó 5 premios dentro de la categoría de Drama (Mejor drama, Mejor director, Mejor guión, Mejor actriz principal y Mejor actriz secundaria).
Muchos hablan de que la premiación tuvo como enfoque la mujer, ya que tanto Big Little Lies como The Handmaid’s Tale la tienen como tema central. Aunque ambas en sentidos diferentes con enfoques diferentes. Sin embargo, es bueno recalcar que la segunda se basa en un libro de 1985 y que a pesar de los años sigue siendo un tema actual.
Por otro lado, la sorpresa por sus 5 nominaciones este año fue This Is Us, una serie sobre dramas familiares y la relación entre un grupo de personas, de las que se llevó una estatuilla por Mejor actor principal para Sterling K. Brown. Black Mirror: San Junipero se llevó dos premios: Mejor film de TV y Mejor guión de miniserie/film/drama.
